If you are on a journey to become more eco friendly then like me, you are also probably very excited when you hear of new sustainable make-up launches.
There is SO much plastic waste and unsustainable protocols in the beauty industry.
Did you know that annually, the beauty industry produces more than 120 BILLION units of packaging globally. Only 9% of all plastic waste ever produced has been recycled, and about 12% incinerated and all the rest — 79% — ended up in landfills, dumps, or the natural environment. (Stats from Beatthemicrobead.org)
SHOCKING
So as much as I am a fan of recyclable packaging… I am also quite doubtful that it will even be recycled so therefore would much rather support brands and products which are eco friendly to start with.
ETHIQUE (Pronouced EH-Teek) is leading the way with eco friendly beauty, sustainable skin care and plastic free self care products. Everything from plastic free moisturiser bars (which I am a big fan of too), Sustainable hair care and even earth friendly shampoo for our fury friends!
They really do have our Mother earth at the fore front of thier plans and actions. Would you believe, they are actually a carbon POSITIVE company (almost unheard of in Beauty).
Here are the key things that Ethique are doing to be an eco friendly beauty business…
-
100 % plastic free
-
One Tree Planted with every order
-
100% renewable energy in thier offices
-
They have warehouses in the USA & UK so freight by sea to avoid air emissions
-
