Have you ever wondered if your nails are vegan friendly?
If you have had them done in your local nail salon, chances are that the ingredients and the tools used to decorate those pretty talons of yours are laced with animals and animal products.
For example- Shellac nails traditionally is a product from the shellac bug. Whether you are vegan or not, you might like to choose vegan nail Extentions or vegan gel polish.
I am working my way around London trying out the vegan friendly nail salons to create this guide for you!
Comment below if you know of a salon I should be including in my vegan nail guide.
Lacquered & Stripped
This little gem is in Paddington, in a beautiful setting surrounded by cute little shops and old tall London buildings. The salon itself is SUPER CUTE and they have tons of vegan friendly beauty treatments from vegan brow laminating, facials, gel bottle nails and so much more. They are known for their bad ass nail art too!
I have had my nails done here various times now and I cannot recommend them enough! They care so much about sustainability, a very eco friendly beauty salon in London.

The Drk room
The Drk room is in east London and I have been recommended a visit by a few friends. This blog is all about honest reviews so here we go…
The salon is very small, super cute. Two tables for nails and two chairs for pedicures. First impressions was that the atmosphere was not friendly. The tech barely said anything and also kept stopping my nails to do be on her phone. In terms of doing my nails, she filed them down to what I thought at the time was a nice shape- unusual as I had never had my nails filed so far down on the edges. But It looked quite cool. They didn’t have time for chrome which was a shame as I made such an effort to get there. So I panicked and chose this…questionable colour. haha!
Anyway- within 24 hours my nails really hurt and thanks to another salon they stepped in to help. Turns out that the way they were filed was so bad for my nails and the edges were so sharp that it was digging into the sides of my nail bed causing them to feel like ‘ingrowing nails’. I had to have Extentions to help them grow out..which is more expensive and my nail is already ripping now..so I can see it’s going to be an ongoing challenge.
The positive things I would say is that the service on instagram was lovely and the owner clearly cares about good customer service. She gave me a refund when I asked for one and also I have heard ok opinions from friends where they have liked their nails, as well as their instagram images look nice. So hopefully it was just one bad day in the Drk room
